This 2008 Tesla Roadster is number 74 of the first 100 manufactured, which were sold as the Signature One Hundred Edition. Finished in Signature Green over tan leather upholstery, the car features a 53-kilowatt-hour battery pack powering a three-phase electric-induction motor paired with a single-speed transmission. Additional equipment includes a body-color removable hardtop, a black soft top, forged staggered-diameter wheels, four-wheel disc brakes with regenerative braking capability, heated seats, and a JVC stereo. The car spent time in Florida and Colorado prior to the seller’s acquisition in 2010, and it now has 4,500 miles. This Signature One Hundred Edition Tesla Roadster is offered with three keys, a spare hardtop, a Tesla-branded car cover, a high-power wall charger, a tool kit, and a radio-controlled model car along with a clean Carfax report and a clean California title.
The Tesla Roadster chassis was based on the contemporary Lotus Elise, and the carbon fiber body is finished in Signature Green with a body-colored removable hardtop. Exterior details include a removable soft top roof, an exterior charging port, an integrated rear spoiler, a rear diffuser, and Signature 100 badging. The aluminum wiper arm was replaced by Tesla in August 2020. The seller states that scratches on the front hood were repaired under prior ownership, and the roof liners on both removable hardtops were reupholstered in September 2022.
Forged 16″ and 17″ wheels are finished in silver and mounted with 175/55 front and 225/45 rear Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 tires that show date codes from 2008. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with cross-drilled rotors, and the car features a regenerative braking system.
The cabin features heated bucket seats upholstered in tan leather accompanied by matching door cards. Additional appointments include carbon-fiber trim, air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, Tesla-branded floor mats, and a JVC stereo with a remote control and navigation. The plaque identifying this example as #74 of the first 100 Tesla Roadster models produced has been removed. Areas of delaminating leather are noted on the door panel inserts. The seller states that the air conditioning system is in need of a recharge, and the trunk lid does not stay fully open.
A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 150-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 13k-rpm redline, while a configurable multifunction LCD screen is mounted to the left of the steering column. The digital odometer indicates 4,500 miles, approximately 4k of which have been added by the seller. Maintenance Service and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) alerts are noted upon start-up. The instrument panel dimmer switch was replaced in August 2020.
The 53-kilowatt-hour battery pack powers the three-phase, four-pole AC-induction motor, which was factory rated at 185 kilowatts (248 horsepower) and 200 lb-ft of torque. A cooling system with electric fans is located in the front trunk. The battery shows a computed amp-hour capacity of 158.41 Ah.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner single-speed transmission.
A radio-controlled model car along with three keys, a spare hardtop, a Tesla-branded car cover, a high power wall charger, 120V charging cable, and a tool kit are included in the sale.
